Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a Field Human Resources Manager to support specialty and emergency hospitals across the Bay Area. This full-time, in-person role partners with hospital leaders to foster a positive culture, provide strategic HR guidance, and support growth for teams.

You will travel across Bay Area hospitals, manage employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and compliance, and help drive workforce engagement for a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional HR certification preferred (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR/SPHR or CA HR Certification).
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR partner for multiple Bay Area hospitals.
• Partner with hospital leadership on employee relations, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, retention, engagement, and succession planning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Guide leaders through investigations, corrective actions, accommodations, leaves, and policy interpretation.
• Analyze workforce trends and recommend strategies to improve engagement and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Compensation, and HR Centers of Excellence.
• Travel regularly throughout the Bay Area to provide onsite support and build relationships.
• Maintain flexibility to support a 24/7 veterinary environment.

What You Bring
