The position leads and operates the HR function across talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, payroll, compliance, training, and executive reporting. Job Summary

The HR Generalist acts as both a strategic leader and a hands-on manager of the HR department. The role balances program development and policy management with direct execution of core HR functions, including overseeing talent acquisition, compensation and benefits administration, payroll, compliance, training, and reporting to senior leadership. It operates with a high degree of autonomy while upholding regulatory standards to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Policy and Program Development: establish HR procedures, refresh employee handbooks, suggest policy updates, and continually analyze programs to inform executive decisions.
  • Executive Metrics and Analytics: create and present monthly HR reports to the DOO.
  • Compensation and Position Studies: perform bi annual compensation analyses, conduct job evaluations, price roles to the market, and classify positions.
  • Compliance and Legal Monitoring: monitor compliance with federal, state, and local laws including wage and hour and EEO standards.
  • Full Cycle Recruitment: manage manpower forecasting, post job openings, conduct initial phone screens, administer assessments, and coordinate the selection process.
  • Orientation and Onboarding: lead onboarding programs to ensure new hires integrate smoothly into the company culture.
  • Personnel Movements: advise leadership on status changes such as appointments, transfers, promotions, demotions, suspensions, layoffs, and separations.
  • Performance Assessment Support: oversee evaluation cycles and assist managers in drafting fair performance appraisals.
  • Grievance Resolution and Conflict Management: counsel on workplace grievances and interpersonal conflicts to foster a positive work environment.
  • Training Program Management: identify training needs, develop or source instructional materials, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Supervisory Coaching: coach department managers on effective training, coaching, and evaluation techniques.
  • Payroll: run payroll processes and monitor timekeeping, verify hours, and address discrepancies for accurate payroll.
  • Benefits Administration: participate in the development and ongoing management of employee benefit programs, health insurance, longevity perks, and retirement plans.
  • HR Documentation and Records: maintain up-to-date employee files, recruitment and onboarding forms, personnel transactions, and filing.
  • Official Correspondence: draft and manage official HR communications, reports, and administrative documents.
