Job summary

MBI is seeking a Repair Technician to perform hull and deck repairs at our Cobalt facility in Lenoir, TN. The role emphasizes following safety protocols, finishing surfaces, and maintaining high quality throughout production.

Responsibilities include cleaning, sanding, solvent wiping, gel coat repair, paint correction, and final inspection. The position requires a HS diploma or equivalent and basic math skills, with an emphasis on hands-on problem solving on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documented procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Reasoning ability to recognize and solve problems on the go.

Responsibilities

• Wipe down, buff, and inspect parts to identify flaws.
• Sand and buff to smooth surfaces.
• Cut flaws from fiberglass and fill holes with gel coat mixture.
• Paint over damaged gel coat to create a flawless surface.
• Correct crooked paint lines to ensure straight lines.
• Repair major hull or deck areas as needed.
• Inspect, repair, and finetune the boat at end of line.
• Other duties as assigned.
