Job summary

Malibu Boats, Inc. is seeking a Repair Technician in the Repair department to perform hull and deck repairs to Cobalt standards while following safety protocols.

Key duties include inspecting parts, sanding, gel coat repair, and painting to correct flaws; ensure straight paint lines and end-of-line quality checks.

Strong attention to detail, ability to read procedures, and basic math skills are required; HS diploma or GED and 1–3 months related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documented procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to recognize and solve problems on the go.

Responsibilities

• Wipe down, buff, and inspect each part to identify flaws or damage.
• Sand and buff problem area to make a smooth, shiny surface.
• Cut flaws out of fiberglass and fill hole with gel coat mixture.
• Paint over thin or damaged areas of gel coat to create a flawless surface.
• Correct crooked paint lines to create straight paint lines.
• Repair major areas in hull or deck to correct errors made while cutting.
• Repairing areas damaged during assembly.
• Inspect, repair, and finesse boat at end of line.
• Other duties may be assigned.
