Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an Occupational Therapist to promote Veterans’ independence at home and in the community, supporting HUD-VASH housing transitions.

The role emphasizes evidence-based OT services for Veterans who are housed or transitioning from homelessness, collaborating with the HUD-VASH team. You will assess home/community performance, develop time-limited plans, and deliver individualized or group interventions to improve ADLs, IADLs, and overall functional

Qualifications

• Evidence-based occupational therapy (OT) services to Veterans who are imminently housed or housed through HUD-VASH/HCHV.
• Evaluate Veterans' occupational performance in home and community settings using records, interviews, input, observation, and assessments.
• Develop collaborative, measurable, time-limited intervention plans with Veterans and HUD-VASH team.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services to Veterans in home and community settings.
• Evaluate and address ADLs, IADLs, education, employment, leisure, social participation; motor, process, and communication skills.
• Develop and deliver individualized or group interventions to improve daily living skills and independence.
• Evaluate, fit, and train Veterans in durable medical equipment and adaptive equipment; educate caregivers.
