Job summary

Start Corporation seeks a HUD Housing Inspector to conduct initial, routine, and follow-up inspections to ensure NSPIRE compliance. You will maintain proactive landlord communication and manage a real-time housing inventory to support placement operations.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED with experience, or a bachelor’s degree, be at least 18, and hold a valid driver’s license. Homeless experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements listed: high school diploma (or GED) and 1 year experience or bachelor degree.
• Must be over 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Personal experience of being homeless (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and completes inspections for various HUD programs.
• Coordinates/schedules appointments and reminder notifications with clients, staff, and landlords.
• Ensures all documentation meets HUD record keeping requirements.
• Maintains up to date and accurate data in all required data systems.
• Supports and encourages landlord recruitment and retention to provide fair and affordable housing opportunities to clients.
• Organize and maintain client files and records ensuring security of files.
• Participates in team meetings to obtain all necessary documentation.
