Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority in Portsmouth, VA seeks a Section 8 Housing Inspector to conduct NSPIRE-compliant inspections of occupied and vacant units. You will produce detailed reports, communicate with owners and managers, and maintain records per program regulations.

The role requires independent work, strong organization, and the ability to handle confidential information. Qualifications include knowledge of NSPIRE/HQS, familiarity with housing standards, and solid

Competenze

Knowledge of HUD NSPIRE or HQS protocols and standards as well as Portsmouth's local occupancy standards.
Experience with residential maintenance and inspections, including related trades, is desirable.
Strong clerical/administrative aptitude and organizational skills.
Proficiency in housing inspection software and related tools.

Mansioni

Performs physical pre-occupancy, initial, annual and follow-up inspections of properties in the program.
Produces reports detailing deficiencies and recommended corrective actions.
Communicates with property owners or management regarding compliance with housing standards.
Maintains and updates listings of available units and records in compliance with program regulations.
Establishes working relationships with property owners and management companies involved in the program.
