Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Housing Inspector to conduct HUD-compliant housing inspections, manage HAP payments and eligibility, and maintain caseload records across Cook and Lake counties.

The position requires a GED or higher with 1–3 years of relevant experience; an AA degree is preferred with 3–5 years of experience and a Housing Quality Standards Certification. Benefits include health insurance, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Minimum GED or high school diploma with 1-3 years relevant experience.
• Preferred AA degree with 3-5 years relevant experience.
• Preferred Housing Quality Standards Certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct HUD-compliant housing inspections in accordance with HQS.
• Collect and review Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) and determine eligibility.
• Maintain up-to-date client files and data in required systems.
• Coordinate with landlords, care managers, and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and pursue ongoing professional development.
