HUB SUPERVISOR

Overnight Parts Inc. (OPA)

Reports To: Territory Manager | Schedule:Full-Time; primarily Monday-Friday, with hours varying by HUB location and operational needs

About the Position

Overnight Parts Inc. is seeking a dependable, hands‑on leader to manage the daily operation of an OPA delivery HUB. The HUB Supervisor is responsible for driver performance, route coverage, safety, customer service, fleet readiness, and the overall execution of daily delivery operations.

This is not a desk-management position. HUB Supervisors are expected to stay actively involved in field operations by delivering routes or conducting driver ride-alongs a minimum of three days per week. This allows the Supervisor to directly observe driver performance, understand route and customer issues, and remain connected to the day-to-day operation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure all assigned delivery routes are covered and depart on time each day.
  • Maintain driver schedules and adequate staffing while minimizing unnecessary overtime.
  • Deliver a route or conduct a driver ride-along a minimum of three days per week.
  • Ensure every driver receives a ride-along at least once every three months to evaluate safety, performance, customer service, and compliance with OPA procedures.
  • Train, coach, and monitor drivers to ensure safe, professional, and dependable performance.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training drivers in coordination with OPA management.
  • Monitor driver attendance, performance, appearance, professionalism, and customer service, and address performance concerns when necessary.
  • Ensure proper use of OPA systems, including DDSTrack and Motive, and compliance with required scanning, delivery documentation, DVIR, and HOS procedures.
  • Respond to daily route and delivery issues, including shortages, mis-sorts, recollects, redeliveries, and other service problems.
  • Monitor route performance and work with management to improve efficiency and customer service.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and ensure delivery vehicles are safe, properly maintained, and available for service.
  • Maintain accurate employee time records and review timekeeping for payroll accuracy.
  • Safeguard OPA vehicles, equipment, automotive parts, fuel, collected funds, and other company or customer property.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Territory Manager regarding significant employee, customer, safety, fleet, and operational issues.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Dependability, accountability, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to lead employees while remaining actively involved in daily operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to safety and customer service.
  • Ability to coach employees and address performance issues when necessary.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn OPA systems, including DDSTrack and Motive.
  • Previous supervisory, transportation, delivery, logistics, warehouse, or operations experience preferred.
  • Experience managing drivers or route-based operations is a strong plus.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is a hands‑on position involving both supervisory and delivery responsibilities. With or without reasonable accommodation, the HUB Supervisor must be able to:

  • Safely lift, carry, and move automotive parts weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and handle automotive parts and freight.
  • Safely enter, exit, and operate OPA delivery vehicles.
  • Perform delivery routes and driver ride-alongs as required.
  • Work safely around vehicles, freight, warehouse equipment, and normal HUB activity.
  • Work in warehouse and delivery environments where temperatures and weather conditions may vary.

What Success Looks Like

A successful HUB Supervisor maintains a safe, dependable, and customer-focused operation. Routes are covered and leave on time. Drivers are trained, monitored, and held accountable. Vehicles are ready for service. Delivery problems are addressed quickly, and management is kept informed of significant issues.

Most importantly, the HUB Supervisor knows what is happening in the field. Regular route participation and ride-alongs allow the Supervisor to lead and coach from direct observation rather than relying solely on reports or secondhand information.
