Job summary

U.S. Water Heating in Scottsboro, AL is seeking a warehouse/ shipping associate to support production and internal/external customers. You will operate forklifts, gather orders, label crates, and manage inventory with multiple warehouse systems.

The role requires safety training, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and standing for long periods. You will coordinate packing, staging, and shipping on diverse outbound orders, ensuring accurate quantities and proper labeling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience performing and maintaining inventory.
• Ability to operate computer systems relevant to shipping and inventory (e.g., High Jump, OTM, Oracle, Korber).
• Ability to read and perform basic math.
• Ability to pass safety, fall protection, and safe operation courses.
• Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team or independently.

• All shipping employees are expected to be available to work in all areas of Shipping – 311 Internal, 930 External (Cross functional team – may be required to work from either shipping dock location).
• Accountable to accurately record inventory transactions such as component receipts and material movements in the inventory management system.
• Utilize multiple shipping computer systems: High Jump, OTM, Oracle, and Korber.
• Report shortages and low stock items to operations and materials management.
• Load/Unload inbound/outbound shipments (LTL, truckload, and UPS).
• Ensure that products are properly stored and labeled.
• Picking, Tagging, and Staging of outbound kits and customer orders – shipments.
• Pull by specific serial numbers to ensure quality order accuracy for end customers.
• Stage, build, wrap, and secure all outbound customer orders.
• Load/unload stock units from production lines to stock warehouse locations via swivel truck/trailer.
• Ensure stock units are staged, stored, and rotated for FIFO order fulfillment.
• Must be able to pass fall protection course.
• Identify and construct crates for all finished units: raw lumber and kitted crates.
• Must be able to load and secure all outbound finished units on flatbed, enclosed, or ISO containers.
• Must be able to operate scissor lifts and similar equipment up to heights greater than 25 feet.
• May require DOT certification to drive company truck.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
• Must be able to operate computer and scanning equipment.
• Must be able to pass class and become certified to operate various pieces of mobile equipment such as sit-down fork trucks, stand-up lift trucks, scissor lifts, and others as required

Overview

Provide production support to internal and external customer base: end customer and production material support. Operate industrial trucks to move materials around the warehouse, storage yard, or factory; pull orders for production and for customers; coordinate crating and packaging material inventory; utilize common hand and pneumatic tools for lumber and crating operations; provide finished unit material support to production lines; pick, label, and audit customer orders; coordinate trailer space usage between shipping teams; create and maintain stock units by serial number; stack and restack palletized finished goods; and operate computer and scanning equipment. This includes materials used in the production of HVAC and industrial refrigeration units and finished units being shipped out.

The position requires the ability to function as a member of a team and as an individual. Safety certification is required at all times. The position requires a high attention to detail and safety, standing and walking for long periods of time, and the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
