Job summary

TandemPV is a solar technology company scaling mechanically stacked perovskite-silicon tandem panels, headquartered in Fremont, CA. The HTL Materials Synthetic Chemist will drive technical advancement of HTL materials and guide their integration into photovoltaic devices.

The role combines hands-on R&D in the lab with collaboration across R&D, manufacturing, and external partners to scale materials for pilot production and manufacturing. PhD is required or MS with strong track record.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related field; MS with solid experience considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of practical interdisciplinary experience (may include postdocs).
• Experience with plan-safe multistep synthesis and purification methods.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end synthesis and characterization of HTL materials from milligram to multigram scale, including purification.
• Create, perform and document materials qualification SOPs.
• Advance quality metrics and drive CAPA actions.
• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers and external partners.
• Negotiate technical statements of work, quality specs, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with partner organizations to develop and qualify materials and equipment.
• Analyze data to drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Establish control strategies and monitoring plans for continuous improvement.
• Work with R&D, process engineering, reliability, and operations to embed quality in roadmaps and milestones.
