Job summary

Vallourec - North America seeks an experienced HSSE Advisor to lead Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental programs at the Youngstown site.

You will promote proactive safety culture, drive continuous improvement, and align HSSE programs across departments to support operational excellence.

The role requires strong knowledge of HSSE regulations, audit experience, and a commitment to safety leadership with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science required; HSSE-related discipline preferred.
• Experience with ISO 14001/45001 and OHSAS 18001, including integrated management systems and audits.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Training preferred.
• CSP or equivalent credential preferred, or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
• Extensive knowledge of HSSE regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
• Leadership in HSSE coaching, BBS programs, and Life Saving Rules enforcement.
• Root Cause Analysis and causal learning for incident investigations.
• Open reporting cultures grounded in psychological safety and human performance principles.
• Proven ability to improve safety culture through proactive near-miss reporting.
• Ability to interpret OSHA regulations within manufacturing settings.
• Familiar with environmental compliance programs (RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC).
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as HSSE expert for one or more Vallourec Youngstown business units.
• Lead investigations of HSSE incidents and coach teams on resolution.
• Maintain HSSE records in line with regulations and ISO standards.
• Deliver HSSE metrics and KPIs to local and corporate stakeholders.
• Coach managers and visitors in safety visits and BBS practices.
• Support Gemba Safety Walk program and safety culture initiatives.
• Collaborate with external regulatory bodies as needed.
• Analyze HSSE data and prepare internal/external reports.
• Develop and implement risk reduction initiatives with business teams.
• Participate in policy and program reviews for continuous improvement.
• Plan and deliver HSSE training for managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors.
• Ensure environmental compliance across water, waste, and air programs.
• Oversee contractor HSSE compliance and vetting/auditing processes.
• Standardize HSSE documentation across departments.
