Job summary

Dyno Nobel is seeking a Health and Safety Technician to support the Cheyenne, WY plant with inspections of safety equipment, health monitoring, and documentation. You will help maintain HSE standards and assist with safety training and incident investigations.

The role emphasizes compliance, safety sign maintenance, and cooperation with plant personnel and contractors. A technical certification or degree is preferred, and TWIC may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or degree preferred.
• Health and Safety experience or knowledge.
• Knowledge of local and federal HSE regulations preferred.
• Some experience in a manufacturing plant preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Support inspections of facility safety equipment and health monitoring.
• Document health & safety activities at the Cheyenne plant.
• Write or update safety procedures (LOA, SWP, SSP, etc.).
• Assist in Root Cause Analysis and OSHA mandated topics training.

What You'll Do

As a Health and Safety Technician, you will support function in providing assistance to Health & Safety in the areas of required inspections of facility safety equipment, health monitoring, and documentation of these activities at the Cheyenne, Wyoming Plant. Other duties include:

• Live and foster Dyno Nobel Values
• Ensure compliance with applicable HSE Performance Standards
• Support the maintenance & improvement of Health and Safety department for the Cheyenne, Wyoming Plant
• Daily filing and organizing safety related material
• Procedure writing (LOA, SWP, SSP, etc.)
• Conducting or assisting in Root Cause Analysis
• Conducting annual testing and recertification of OSHA mandated topics
• Assist plant personnel and contractors with safety training (SWP, SSP, etc.)
• Updating Evacuation Drill and Emergency Response Plan
• Turnaround preparation and execution
• Update monthly safety data for Key Performance Indicator Boards
• Assist plant personnel and contractors with safety training
• Inspects the following: fire extinguishers, escape packs, safety showers, eye wash stations, ladders, tools, fire hydrant, fire hose cabinet, fire engine inspections, fall protection equipment etc.
• Assist in LOPA's, PHA's, MOC's, and MSDS updates
• Maintain site safety signs and HSE labelling of tanks, vessels etc.

What We're Looking For:

• Technical certification, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Health and Safety experience or knowledge
• Knowledge of local and federal regulatory rules surrounding HSE preferred
• Some experience in a manufacturing plant experience preferred
• Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Program (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
