Job summary

Nordic PCL Construction, Inc. in Honolulu, Hawaii, seeks an HSE Supervisor to lead innovative infrastructure projects that shape the community’s future.

You will implement project HSE plans, deliver training, and supervise safety programs, while building strong relationships with stakeholders and mentoring HSE staff. The role requires a Bachelor’s in OH&S and 5 years in health and safety, with supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Construction knowledge and proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Implements and supports project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and other safe work practices.
• Identifies, evaluates, develops and delivers project specific HSE training.
• Implements district HSE communication strategies on projects.
• Recognizes, evaluates, and advises on hazard identification.
• Leads and conducts project HSE inspections and monitors the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans.
• Develops and evaluates efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site-specific security requirements and the environmental plan.
• Monitors and audits trade contractor HSE performance.
• Participates in on-site investigative processes and evaluating corrective actions taken.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders.
• Coaches, trains and mentors HSE Coordinators and other employees.

• Solid understanding of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
• Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
• Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

The estimated salary range for this role is 95,400.00 - 143,000.00, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
