Job summary

National Oilwell Varco, L.P. is seeking an HSE Specialist to join our HSE Support team.

You will support the implementation and continual improvement of the HSE management system, identify risks, and drive safety culture while ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards. You will partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance to deliver HSE training, maintain accurate records, and support audits, inspections, and emergency planning.

Qualifications

BS in a relevant field and 3+ years in HSE, preferably oil/gas.
Strong knowledge of OSHA/TCEQ requirements and compliance.
Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Drive implementation and improvement of the HSE management system.
Identify hazards and implement preventive controls.
Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, TCEQ) and company standards.
Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations with root-cause analysis.
Develop and deliver HSE training with cross-functional teams.
Maintain HSE records, metrics, and regulatory documentation.
Lead safety meetings and employee engagement activities.
Monitor regulatory changes and recommend program updates.
Support emergency response planning and business continuity.
Assist environmental programs including waste, air, stormwater.
