Role Overview

HSE Specialist II – an experienced level professional safety position. This field-based role supports the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs by collaborating with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and customer representatives. It includes site inspections, hazard identification, incident investigations, training, and compliance documentation to promote a safe work environment, as well as planning, audits, and safety initiatives to align with company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal teams, client representatives, regulatory agencies, and medical facilities to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Support and promote the company's safety program and local incident prevention initiatives to reduce risk behaviors.
  • Implement project-based safety programs aligned with strategic goals.
  • Contribute to pre-task planning and job site safety meetings.
  • Coaches and teaches duties and processes to more junior team members.
  • Prepare and deliver safety meetings and training to enhance hazard awareness.
  • Contribute to, and make recommendations to, the development and review of job hazard analyses to identify risks and control measures.
  • Support incident, near-miss, and claim investigations and communications.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of company HSE standards, programs, and objectives.
  • Model HSE goals to ensure a safe and productive environment.
  • Assist in developing routine HSE project plans and specifications.
  • Provide input and guidance supporting audits, inspections, evaluations, and incident investigations.
  • Maintain required reports and documentation to meet corporate and regulatory standards.

What You Bring
  • 4‑year related degree and 2 years’ experience with STS‑C OR 5 years relevant experience and CHST.
  • Ability to spend 80% of working time on active construction sites.
Travel
  • Up to 100% as needed.
Working Conditions
  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
  • Full compliance with the ADA and applicable state law, including reasonable accommodation measures for qualified disabled applicants and employees.
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
