Overview

HSE Specialist II is an experienced field‑based safety position that supports the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs by working with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and customer representatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal teams, client representatives, regulatory agencies, and medical facilities to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Support and promote the company’s safety program and local incident prevention initiatives to reduce risk behaviors.
  • Implement project‑based safety programs aligned with strategic goals.
  • Contribute to pre‑task planning and job site safety meetings.
  • Coach and teach duties and processes to more junior team members.
  • Prepare and deliver safety meetings and training to enhance hazard awareness.
  • Contribute to, and make recommendations to the development and review of job hazard analyses.
  • Support incident, near‑miss, and claim investigations and communications.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of company HSE standards, programs, and objectives.
  • Model HSE goals to ensure a safe and productive environment.
  • Assist in developing routine HSE project plans and specifications.
  • Provide input and guidance supporting audits, inspections, evaluations, and incident investigations.
  • Maintain required reports and documentation to meet corporate and regulatory standards.
Qualifications

Experience and Education

4‑year related degree and 2 years’ experience and STS‑C or 5 years relevant experience and CHST.

Ability to spend 80% of working time on active construction sites. Up to 25% travel as needed.

Working Conditions

General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the job site. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
