Job summary

Kerry is a global leader in taste and nutrition, seeking an EHS professional to support its Harrisonburg site. The role focuses on safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across 2pm-10pm hybrid shifts with flexibility for other shifts.

Key responsibilities include implementing EHS directives, leading incident investigations, managing permits, and driving KPI improvements. A BS or equivalent with relevant certifications is preferred, plus manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Occupational Safety & Health or related field, OR at least 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• SAP, Intelex and/or Alchemy experience a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Professional certification (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.) a plus.
• Knowledge of EHS regulations, including OSHA and EPA; local EHS knowledge a plus.
• Experience in Continuous Improvement a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support business strategy by ensuring EHS directives, policies, and initiatives are implemented at the site level.
• Develop and execute EHS annual objectives and continuous improvement plans with site operations management.
• Implement new or revised EHS policies and regulatory requirements with operations.
• Identify EHS training needs and deliver training programs for employees and management.
• Manage environmental permits and ensure compliance with site-specific regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular site audits and inspections, driving corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead and support EHS incident investigations, communicating findings and actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to enhance workplace safety.
• Track and report EHS KPIs, identifying trends and improvements.
• Maintain accurate EHS records and documentation to ensure compliance.

About the role

Kerry has over 50 sites across North America. The Kerry-Harrisonburg facility has over 160 employees working 24/7. The successful candidate for this role is someone comfortable working on a hybrid shift (2pm-10pm) shift, but flexible to support other shifts when needed, and open to career advancement opportunities.

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $63,000 - $103,450 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
