Job summary

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies in Lebanon, IN is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety and environmental programs at the site. You will drive governance, foster a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance across production, engineering and maintenance.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing HSE leadership, a related bachelor’s degree (CSP preferred), and bilingual Spanish is a plus. English required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HSE leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS or engineering; CSP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Fluent English; Spanish language skills preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office and HSE systems (Workday, SharePoint, Enablon).
• Ability to influence leaders and engage a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Strategic HSE leadership as part of site leadership team, driving integration of HSE priorities into business decisions.
• Safety culture and leadership accountability, coaching leaders and ensuring accountability for HSE performance.
• Site-wide HSE governance, aligning production, engineering, maintenance, logistics and support functions.
• HSE team leadership and development, guiding daily activities and initiatives.
• Compliance and management systems, ensuring ISO 45001/14001 and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee occupational health programs, risk assessment and management of hazardous substances.

HSE Manager

Responsibilities

• Strategic HSE Leadership – Serve as a key member of the site leadership team, driving the integration of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) priorities into all business and operational decisions.
• Safety Culture & Leadership Accountability – Champion a strong safety culture by coaching leaders, challenging practices when needed, and ensuring accountability for HSE performance across the organization.
• Site-Wide HSE Governance – Lead HSE strategy and governance, fostering alignment and engagement across production, engineering, maintenance, logistics, and support functions.
• HSE Team Leadership & Development – Manage and develop the HSE Officer, providing direction, prioritization, coaching, and oversight of daily HSE activities and initiatives.
• Compliance & Management Systems – Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, corporate HSE standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements through effective leadership and execution.
• Occupational Health & Risk Management – Oversee industrial hygiene and occupational health programs, including risk assessment, control strategies, and management of hazardous substances and workplace health risks.

Qualifications

• BILINGUAL IN SPANISH IS PREFERRED
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or a related technical field; CSP preferred.
• 10+ years of HSE leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing operations (300+ employees preferred).
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Proven ability to influence leaders and engage a diverse workforce; English required, Spanish a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE systems (e.g., Workday, SharePoint, Enablon); able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
