Job summary

Mubea Coil Springs in Florence, AL seeks a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to promote HS&E awareness and support the business units through effective communication and administration of programs and procedures. This role will learn all aspects of plant safety to drive a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities include monitoring compliance with federal and state HS&E regulations, communicating policies to management and employees, managing Workers’ Compensation, and administering ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in HS&E, or relevant field of study, master degree desirable.
• At least 5 years experience in manufacturing or operations environment.
• ISO 14001 knowledge and OSHA knowledge

Responsibilities

• Monitor HS&E compliance regulations and provide technical support to HS&E team and plant management.
• Understand federal, state HS&E regulations.
• Communicate HS&E policies to management and employees.
• Manage Workers’ Compensation Program.
• Retain environmental records for storm water and air quality.
• Daily safety and environmental tracking.
• Administer ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 systems.
• Review safety committee meeting minutes and safety audit reports and follow up as necessary.
• Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and take appropriate actions.
• Prepare written EH&S documents and communications.
• Identify and coordinate EH&S training.
• Participate in safety meetings, audits and committee meetings.
• Identify and resolve safety issues.
• Interface with suppliers, vendors and visitors as needed.
