This Position reports to:
Manufacturing Unit Manager
The HSE Manager assures and maintains health, safety and environmental compliance for the Arecibo & Arecibo 2.0 Sites. Maintains up to date all regulatory environmental permits and reports according to established laws, regulations, and corporate requirements. Liaison for key regulatory agencies such as PRASA, EQB, DOT, OSHA and others. Responsible for managing budgets for the Environmental, Health and Safety Department. Responsible for implementing EHS programs and projects Plant wide. Manages the Waste Treatment Plant and all related activities. Supports and actively participate in all plant strategies and business initiatives.
This is an on-site position based in Arecibo, PR.
This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power Division in Puerto Rico.
You will be mainly accountable for:
• Supporting line managers and supervisors in the organization in understanding obligations, liabilities and requirements
• Ensuring appropriate tools and measures are in place and used effectively, at the same time reporting the HSE incidents.
• Reporting on HSE performance and progress with respect to the Group objectives
• Drive behavioral change and ensuring HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards and best practices
Qualifications:
• BS in Chemical or Environmental Engineering Degree required or equivalent, accredited by an educational institution from PR/US.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an EHS Manager in a manufacturing environment.
• PC knowledge. Proficiency in: MS Office, Oracle, etc.
• Knowledge of policies and practices in Environmental Health and Safety.
• Experience working with managers, making presentations and reports.
Ability to supervise the work of others including coordinating, assigning, monitoring and evaluation work; training, counseling, and disciplining.
