As an HSE Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation and management of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management Systems across assigned NOV facilities. This role requires close collaboration with facility personnel and management to maintain compliance with federal regulations and company/third-party HSE policies. A key responsibility includes overseeing the implementation and maintenance of the NOV HSE 360 Management System, ensuring operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with management and employees to implement, maintain, and improve HSE Management Systems.
- Ensure completion of NOV-required training and additional job-specific training.
- Support the HSE Manager in driving campaigns, procedures, and initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of audits (internal, external, and third-party).
- Conduct internal audits and present findings to management.
- Lead and support incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
- Enter audit results and incident data into NOV’s in-house HSE database.
- Provide HSE training to all facility personnel, including leadership.
- Conduct routine facility inspections, risk assessments, and walkthroughs.
- Liaise with all levels of staff to ensure compliance with HSE policies and standards.
- Assist in achieving annual HSE targets and objectives.
- Support external audits with certification agencies.
- Ensure compliance with recordkeeping and document control requirements.
- Perform additional tasks related to facility management, vendor audits, or client HSE data as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an HSE role within the oil & gas or manufacturing industry.
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Teams, and other HSE data systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable communicating with all organizational levels — from shop floor to executive management.

HSE Requirements & Work Conditions
- Lead reporting and investigation of incidents and near-misses.
- Be a proactive HSE culture champion.
- Work in manufacturing environments (noise, standing, walking).
- Also operate in office settings (typing, sitting, administrative tasks).
- Follow all company HSE procedures and requirements.
- Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
Other Requirements
- Travel to other facilities may be required.
- Participation in after-hours incident response may be necessary.
- Other HSE-related duties as directed by the HS&E Manager.
