Job summary

Gentherm is seeking an experienced HSE & Facility Leader to promote a safe, compliant, high-performing workplace. You will develop programs, assess risks, and drive actions to reduce incidents across facilities.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or equivalent in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of EHS or workplace safety experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience delivering or facilitating employee training.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training.
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and hazard analyses; implement corrective actions.
  • Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations, policies, and customer requirements.
  • Manage waste, chemical handling, labeling, SDS/HDS, and environmental programs.
  • Maintain EHS performance metrics, records, and compliance documentation.
  • Oversee PPE, emergency preparedness, response plans, and safety equipment.
  • Supervise contractors and EHS service providers for safe operations.
  • Support facility operations, including service provider management and PO oversight.
  • Assist with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and TISAX audits and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and risk-based thinking across responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen safety culture and operations.

HSE & Facility Leader

Impact and Opportunity

As the HSE & Facility Leader, you will play a critical role in creating a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace where employees can do their best work. You’ll have the opportunity to influence safety culture, strengthen facility operations, and proactively identify and address risks across the organization.In this role, you will evaluate work environments, identify potential hazards, and develop programs, procedures, and training designed to prevent injuries, reduce risk, and protect both people and property. You’ll serve as a trusted safety resource for employees and leaders, providing guidance on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while driving continuous improvement in HSE practices.

Beyond compliance, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact by building a culture where safety is embedded in everyday operations. You’ll conduct inspections, investigate and address hazardous conditions, partner with teams to implement corrective actions, and help ensure equipment, machinery, and work practices meet established safety standards

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manage waste, recycling, chemical handling, SDS/HDS, labeling, and environmental programs.
  • Maintain and monitor EHS performance metrics, records, and compliance documentation.
  • Oversee PPE requirements, emergency preparedness, response plans, and safety equipment.
  • Supervise contractors and EHS-related service providers to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Support facility operations, including service provider management and purchase order oversight.
  • Support compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and TISAX requirements and audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement, risk-based thinking, and management of change across areas of responsibility.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen safety culture, environmental performance, and operational excellence.
  • Lead emergency response activities and stop work when significant health, safety, or environmental risks are identified.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Technical degree, certification, or equivalent experience in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3year of EHS or workplace safety experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience delivering or facilitating employee training.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment, hazard identification, incident investigation, and EHS compliance.
  • Strong technical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, leadership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with employees, leaders, and contractors.
  • Schedule flexibility to support facility and emergency response needs.
  • Ability to understand and consistently apply Gentherm policies, procedures, and safety standards.
