Job summary

Jobtailor in Rayville, Louisiana seeks an on-site Safety Supervisor to oversee project safety, coordinate hazard controls, and ensure regulatory compliance on construction sites.

You will conduct field safety orientations, inspect equipment, document incidents, and lead weekly safety meetings. OSHA 30, first aid training, and STSC are preferred qualifications.

Qualifications

• 5 years of construction experience.
• At least 1 year on-site safety experience.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry certification.
• Completed First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
• Specialized training relevant to scope of work.
• Working knowledge of safety regulations and hazard control methods.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to tackle ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of industry competitors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the overall supervision and administration of project safety.
• Coordinate project safety efforts to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Communicate project safety conditions to the HSE Manager, HSE Director, and project supervision.
• Develop and conduct field safety orientation training.
• Inspect machinery, equipment, and working conditions daily for regulatory compliance and safe work practices.
• Observe workers’ use of prescribed safety equipment.
• Inspect fire-prevention equipment, first-aid supplies, and other safety devices.
• Test work areas for hazard exposures such as noise and toxic substances.
• Prepare daily reports with findings and corrective-action recommendations.
• Investigate accidents to establish root causes and recommend preventive safety measures.
• Document accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions, and unsafe behavior.
• Assist with development of JSAs, the corporate SHMP, and project-specific safety plans.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings and instruct workers on safety practices and requirements.
• Demonstrate equipment use and conduct safety training.
