Job summary

Jobtailor in Hamlet, NC is seeking an experienced EHS Owner’s Representative to lead safety initiatives on large construction projects. You will perform site walks, chair meetings, conduct audits, and ensure contract requirements are met.

You will analyze health and safety data, coach craft personnel on OSHA/client requirements, and collaborate with the EHS team to build robust programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local EHS regulations
  • Willingness to pursue advanced safety certifications (STSC, CHST, or CSP)

Job description

  • Provide support to large-scale construction projects by initiating and attending meetings

  • Perform construction safety field audits and field data collection
  • Analyze worker health and safety data for trends
  • Educate various stakeholder groups on EHS requirements and best practices
  • Collect data, create timely reports, and communicate trends from field inspections
  • Observe work practices onsite and strive to create solutions that optimize employee health
  • Ability to coach craft worker personnel on OSHA/Client requirements
  • Lead meetings as the representative from EHS
  • Lead incident investigations to drive future improvement
  • Build programs in collaboration with the EHS team
Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience required
  • A strong working knowledge of OSHA standards
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local EHS regulations
  • A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to assess risks and identify improvements
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth
  • Willingness to pursue advanced safety certifications such as STSC, CHST, or CSP
  • Well versed with Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience as a Construction EHS Owners Representative is welcomed.
