Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Safety professional to champion site safety across a multi-employer construction setting. You will lead risk assessments, create and enforce safety plans, and coordinate audits, investigations, and training to prevent incidents.

The role requires strong communication with subcontractors, a background in electrical, crane, and fall protection safety, and experience in data center construction. Expect active safety leadership and program development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with H&S in the construction industry, 2 years data center construction project experience preferred.
  • CHST/CSP certification is a plus.
  • Proficient with management of high-risk activities including electrical safety, excavation, fall protection, and crane operations.
  • Experience in communicating and solving problems with subcontractors.
  • A background working with electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters is a plus.
  • Understanding multi-employer worksites.
  • Experienced trainer on construction safety topics and audits.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations with reporting processes.

  • Provide timely, high quality safety technical support.
  • Carry out regular workplace inspections to monitor compliance with site rules and procedures.
  • Coordinate the completion of job safety analyses, risk assessments and pre-task plans.
  • Prepare and submit local, state, and internal reports as needed.
  • Review and track investigations of injuries, illnesses, environmental releases, non-injury accidents and near-misses to identify root causes.
  • Lead investigations into serious adverse events.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance and initiate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate local business continuity, emergency response, and crisis management plans.
  • Develop and test the plans.

  • Experience in communicating and problem-solving as a team with subcontractors is required.
  • A background and knowledge working with specific trades such as electricians, ironworkers, pipefitters, etc. is a plus.
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-employer worksites.
  • Experienced trainer on construction safety topics and comfortable working with a wide variety of trades.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting construction site safety audits and inspections.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and can follow reporting processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator who understands the importance of timely communications and reporting.
