Job summary

Colorado Springs School District 11 is hiring a Paraeducator I-SPED-Mild/Moderate Needs for Coronado High School in Colorado Springs, CO. You will provide instructional and behavioral support under the supervision of a certified teacher and help develop students’ academic, communication, and functional skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of college or higher education, or equivalent demonstrated by state assessment.
• Associate degree preferred in education or related field.
• Experience working with children with disabilities is required.
• Bilingual skills relevant to district population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support under the direction of a certified teacher, working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and develop academic, communication, and functional skills.
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies aligned with IEP goals.
• Monitor, document, and report student progress and behavior; maintain records aligned with IEP goals and Medicaid documentation as applicable.
• Assist with classroom operations by preparing instructional materials, assisting with assessments, recording attendance, and completing required paperwork.
• Support students with daily routines, transitions, and independence to promote a structured learning environment.
• Supervise and support students across settings (classroom, playground, lunchroom, field trips) with attention to individual needs.
• Perform clerical and organizational tasks, including data entry, filing, copying, laminating, inventory, and ordering supplies.
• Assist with classroom logistics and events, including transitions and specialized programming needs.
• Utilize standard office and classroom technology to support instructional, behavioral, and documentation requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
