Job summary

Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health & Science Charter School is seeking a certified, or on the pathway to, experienced ELA Special Education Teacher for our Bronx-based high school.

You will collaborate with teachers across content areas under the Principal’s supervision to meet IEP goals. The role requires knowledge of IEP processes, MTSS, and differentiated instruction, with emphasis on using technology to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required (NYSED certification preferred).
• Master’s Degree in ELA preferred.
• NYS certification in Special Education preferred (must be on the pathway).

Responsibilities

• Plan with appropriate specialists to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Develop lesson plans that are clear, logical, and sequential and differentiated.
• Implement MTSS-aligned instructional strategies and monitor student progress.
• Write IEP reports and maintain high-quality documentation.
