Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health & Science Charter School is seeking a certified, or on the pathway to certification, and experienced special education teacher to provide history instruction to our high school students.

Under the direction of the Principal, the teacher will collaborate with colleagues within the department and across content areas. Responsibilities include implementing IEP processes, writing reports, planning differentiated lessons, using technology, assessing student progress, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s in History preferred.
• NYS certification in Special Education preferred or on the pathway.
• At least 2 years teaching experience in middle school preferred.
• Experience with educational technology and data-driven instruction.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in History to high school students.
• Write IEP reports and participate in referral processes.
• Plan differentiated lessons and collaborate with department colleagues.
• Assess student progress and maintain records to inform instruction.
• Use technology to support instruction and student engagement.
