Job summary

Telluride School District R-1 in Telluride, CO is seeking a Basketball Head Coach for the High School Boys program. The coach will plan, direct and lead an education-based athletic program focused on developing athletes of integrity.

Qualifications include meeting Telluride CHSAA coaching requirements, experience coaching in an education-based program, and a preference for certified teachers. Playing or coaching background is valued; reports to the Middle/High School Athletic Director.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching in an education-based athletics program.
• Must meet head coaching requirements of Telluride School District and CHSAA.
• Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
• Certified teacher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accept and implement an educational based athletic approach to Middle/High School athletics.
• Follow school, conference, and CHSAA rules and regulations.
• Complete CHSAA coaching requirements before first competition (HS); CPR/First Aid/AED for MS.
• Attend clinics, seminars, and in-service programs to improve coaching skills.
• Organize, schedule and supervise practice sessions.
• Supervise equipment use and inventory with Athletics Director.
• Report scores and disseminate team information for publicity.
• Represent the school professionally and develop continuity between community and school programs.
