Job summary

The Telluride School District R-1 is seeking a dedicated head coach to lead an education-based athletic program at the middle/high school level. You will plan, direct, and implement the program with a focus on integrity, character, and student well-being, while coordinating with the Athletic Director and district guidelines.

Responsibilities include meeting CHSAA coaching requirements, fostering youth development, organizing practice sessions, supervising equipment, and representing the school

Qualifications

• Experience coaching in an Education Based athletic program.
• Certified teacher preferred.
• Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accept and implement an educational based athletic approach to Middle/High School athletics.
• Follows the rules and regulations of the school, the conference and the Colorado High School Activities Association.
• Complete all CHSAA Coaching requirements before the start of the first competition (HS only, MS must have CPR/First aid/ AED certification).
• Attend clinics, seminars, online classes and in-service programs in order to improve coaching skills and to stay current with new trends in coaching, training, conditioning and safety procedures.
• Coaches are expected to attend school and conference meetings, and are encouraged to attend state coaches meetings.
• Give input about and then carry out the interscholastic schedule as drawn up by the Athletics Director.
