North Park School District Region 1 North Park Middle School / High School - Walden, Colorado is seeking a dependable High School Boys Assistant Basketball Coach for the 2026/27 season to support the Head Coach in developing student-athletes' skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The role involves assisting practices, game preparation, supervision of athletes, and ensuring a positive, safe team environment with strict adherence to athletic policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Pass a CBI and FBI background check
• Complete CHSAA 1st Year Coaches Test, Concussion Training, Mandatory Reporter Training, First Aid/CPR certification
• Previous playing or coaching experience in track preferred
• Ability to work with student-athletes in a positive and constructive way
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices.
• Help teach sport-specific skills, techniques, and strategies.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.
• Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development.
• Assist with equipment management, game preparation, and team logistics.
• Help ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes.
• Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, athletes, and school staff.
• Follow North Park, Western-Slope League, and Colorado athletic policies and guidelines
