Calvert County Government operates an Indoor Aquatic Center and seeks a Lifeguard to ensure patron safety, maintain the pool area and collect entry fees. The role requires flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, and to enforce all safety rules.
Qualified candidates hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid & CPR/AED certificate, must be 18+, and be willing to undergo a background check. Pay is $18.99 per hour, with up to 40 hours weekly, nonexempt staff.
Responsible for the overall safety of patrons, general maintenance, and cleaning of facility.
Implements appropriate rescue, first aid and emergency procedures.
Cleans pool, bathhouse, and related areas daily.
Collects entry fees.
Enforces all rules and regulations as they relate to pool safety.
Attends weekly training sessions.
Performs any other duties as assigned which relate to the operation of a public swimming pool.
Performs related work as required.
Knowledge of--
Proper lifeguarding procedures.
Deal effectively with the public.
Follow instructions; perform general cleaning.
