Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

What You’ll Do:

Reporting to the VP, People, we are seeking a proactive HRIS & People Systems Specialist to drive continuous improvement and innovation within our HR technology ecosystem. While this role involves foundational system support, the primary focus is on designing, implementing, and optimizing enhancements that elevate Workday’s capabilities and align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will blend technical proficiency with HR functional expertise; leveraging Workday configurations to streamline processes, automate workflows, and deliver scalable solutions. A collaborative mindset is essential to partner with the greater People team, our Corporate Technology team, and business leaders in translating needs into system advancements. The ideal candidate will also have strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and a passion for supporting a positive work environment. This role is based in our San Jose, CA Headquarters.

What You'll Do:

  • Establish best practices for system governance, security, and compliance
  • Support Workday roadmap planning and prioritization of new features or modules.
  • System Management
  • Serve as Workday subject manager expert with a focus on core HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, Compensation, Benefits, and Advanced Compensation modules
  • Configure and maintain Workday business processes, security, integrations, reports, and dashboards
  • Manage system updates and releases, testing new functionality and ensuring compatibility with existing processes.
  • Drive process optimization and automation through effective use of Workday capabilities
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and other business units to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality Workday configurations and workflows.
    • Act as a liaison for technical and non-technical teams, translating business needs into system functionality.
  • Data Integrity & Compliance
    • Conduct regular audits and validation checks to maintain data accuracy while enforcing security protocols and access controls
    • Ensure full compliance with company policies, data privacy regulations (SOX), and industry standards through proactive monitoring and controls
  • Support & System Enablement
    • Act as the Workday subject matter expert, providing technical support, troubleshooting, and end-user training to maximize system adoption and effectiveness
  • Project Management & Strategic Initiatives
    • Assist in end-to-end Workday projects including module implementations, integrations, and process redesigns while managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications
  • Day-to-Day System Stewardship
    • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues while maintaining comprehensive documentation and escalation protocols
    • Oversee end-to-end employee data lifecycle management (onboarding, compensation, talent records) including scheduled maintenance, mass updates, and system testing

What You Need:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience configuring Workday HRIS, including day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and system enhancements.
  • Experience configuring Workday modules such as HCM, Compensation, Talent & Performance and Security.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users, coupled with a customer-focused mindset and commitment to providing high-quality support.
  • Experience with Workday integrations (EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio, etc.).
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and regulations (e.g., SOX).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work onsite in office.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Confidently manages through ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Takes initiative, thrives in an autonomous work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience using Workday along with the various modules

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience managing other People systems such as payroll or timekeeping
  • Experience with Workday reporting; writing, scheduling, and managing advanced reports.
  • Proficiency with Greenhouse ATS and ADP systems and integrations

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $99,840 - $124,800. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
