Job summary

The City of Springfield is seeking an experienced HRIS & Payroll Specialist to oversee daily payroll operations and maintain the integrity of HRMS data for 2,000+ employees on a bi-weekly cycle.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and HRIS/payroll analytics experience, advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas), and the ability to work with IT on HRMS changes and upgrades. Benefits include a solid pension and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional HRIS/payroll analytics experience or equivalent substitution by experience.
• Experience with HRIS, payroll processes, and HR reporting and analytics.
• Projects or work experience demonstrating collaboration with IT/IS teams on HRMS changes.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily payroll processes and ensure data integrity of HRMS records for 2,000+ employees on a bi-weekly basis.
• Collaborate with Information Systems department to review, test, and implement HRMS changes and upgrades.
• Perform payroll calculations and ensure accuracy across payroll cycles.
