Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented HRIS/Payroll Support professional in Houston, TX. You will process employee data in UKG Pro, support onboarding, and ensure accurate payroll workflows in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least two years of HRIS data changes experience, strong Excel skills, and excellent communication to assist internal customers and managers with payroll and benefits compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience processing changes in a full-service HRIS.
• Understanding of payroll processes and legislative requirements.
• Proficiency in UKG Pro HRIS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel.
• Knowledge of hiring processes and documentation requirements.
• Accurate data entry and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks in a team.
• Knowledge of HR, benefits and payroll regulations.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and complete the onboarding package.
• Enter and verify new or returning employee data in the HRIS.
• Schedule orientation or pre-employment training.
• Validate documentation (I-9s, E-Verify).
• Ensure information supports timely payroll processing.
• Process employee transactions in the HRIS.
• Respond to internal inquiries about system access or data issues.
• Apply HRIS changes in line with regulations and company policy.
• Update employee status changes in the system in a timely manner.
• Audit employee files for required documentation.
• Audit processes for accuracy and provide training as needed.
• Answer Service Center inquiries via calls, email, text; escalate when needed.
• Maintain a log of inquiries and report weekly.
• Prepare templated responses for FAQs.
• Assist managers with workflows related to employee changes and approvals.
• Identify HRIS issues and refer to the HRIS team.
• Update organizational information and documents in HRIS for user reference.
• Report metrics related to Service Center activity.
