Qualifications

Salary Range

$65,780 to $84,878 annually .Compensation will be commensurate upon experience andqualifications.This position is Exempt from the Fair LaborStandards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary

The HRIS Analyst serves as the primary liaison between HumanResources, campus departments, University Information Technology,and CU System partners to support and enhance human resourcesystems and business processes. This position is responsible foranalyzing, maintaining, and improving HR technology solutions thatsupport the employee lifecycle, including Human ResourcesInformation Systems (HRIS), talent acquisition, payroll, andrelated human capital management functions. Working closely with HRstaff, campus stakeholders, and technical teams, the HRIS Analystgathers and documents business requirements, analyzes processes,identifies opportunities for improvement, and helps implementtechnology solutions that enhance efficiency, data integrity,compliance, and the employee experience. The position collaborateswith IT and system partners to evaluate new functionality,recommend system enhancements, test solutions, and supportimplementation efforts. The HRIS Analyst plays a key role inensuring HR systems effectively meet the operational and strategicneeds of the university through process optimization, systemconfiguration, reporting, and data analysis.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

(55%) Human Resources Applications
  • Serve as the functional subject matter expert for HR systemsand related business processes, including but not limited to HRISfunctions – applicant tracking, talent acquisition, performancemanagement, compensation, payroll, timekeeping, electronic employeefiles, automated forms and workflows, and various HR communicationtools (e.g. website, blog, email tools).
  • Assist with new business application implementations, as wellas enhancements and upgrades for existing applications.
  • Provide application support, end-user training, and continuousimprovement of these processes and systems.
  • Serves as primary security role coordinator.
(20%) Process Engineering
  • Review and analyze existing HR processes and workflows, partnerwith process owners and subject matter experts to documentworkflows and process requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, andsimplification.
  • Lead and manage strategic process improvement projects andinitiatives including change management.
  • Support roll-out and communication of HR processimprovements.
  • Create and maintain a repository of process flows and otherrelated technical communications.
(10%) Testing
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and UniversityInformation Systems (UIS) to develop testing plans forfunctionality enhancements and software upgrades.
  • Ensure system modifications pass first level of testing, priorto handing off to SMEs for 2nd level of testing.
  • Serve as testing coordinator for HR system implementation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and simple issue resolution beforerecommending escalation to campus OIT or system UIS.
(10%) Business Intelligence/Analysis
  • Serve as the HR business analyst in cross campus HR technologyprojects. Identify and document business requirements for HumanResources and cross-functional stakeholders for new and enhancedsystems/functions to improve and streamline business processes andperformance.
  • Responsible for design specifications, data integrity,troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Collects and analyzes large amounts of HR data through variouscomplex databases, translating data into appropriate metrics.
  • Align data management and reporting practices with other datareporting departments.
  • Prepares reports and participates in the design of HRdashboards.
  • Responds to ad hoc data and report requests if data set is notalready available.
(5%) Other Duties:
  • In times of increased team workload, may coordinate and processnew employee entries into the HCM system, process employment changeletters, reappointments, and position data updates through importsor directly into HCM. Follows up with employees for neededdocumentation.
  • In times of increased team workload, process employmentseparation to include submitting final pay, auditing leave balance,processing department notifications and ensuring all appropriateappointments and supplemental pays are ended.
  • Serve as a back up for campus eComm communications.

Qualifications :
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a field related to humanresources or information technology from an accreditedinstitution.
  • Progressively responsible HRIS experience, including advancedqueries is required.
  • Must have experience supporting HR, payroll, talentacquisition, or other human capital management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with process analysis, systemconfiguration, implementation, testing, and reporting isrequired.
  • Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation,and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with both functional andtechnical stakeholders in a complex organizational environment isrequired.
  • To qualify applicants must have experience working with SQLDatabase or database reporting tools Strong Project Management andprioritization skills.
  • Working knowledge of HR best practices is required.
  • A Master's degree in a field related to human resources orinformation technology is preferred.
  • Knowledge of higher education HR business processes andregulatory requirement is preferred.
  • Highly qualified applicants will have OnBase and PeopleSoft HCMexperience.
  • Experience with web content tools, such as DRUPAL ispreferred.
