Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a dedicated intern/co-op to drive performance tracking, data analysis, and continuous improvement across HR processes. You will partner with HR leaders, maintain backlogs, and develop job aids to support rollout of new processes using AI tools.

The role is full-time, based on-site in Boston, January–June 2027. Requires advanced degree enrollment (Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Operations Management, Information Systems,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred), Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, or Business Process Management.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry-level roles in this part of the organization.
• Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from January to June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Track performance and prepare weekly progress reports for the team and HR leadership.
• Maintain a prioritized backlog of process issues and actions with owners and due dates.
• Develop job aids, process guides, FAQs, and checklists; support rollout of process updates using AI tools.
• Engage with HR service owners, HR operations, HR technology, and leaders; collaborate with external partners on the program.
