Description of Work Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located at 325 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh - Wake County, with Department of Administration. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants. The selected individual will be responsible for reviewing applications and referring qualified temporary designated candidates to hiring managers. Job duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Management Preferences: Experience using Workday and working within an HR division in North Carolina State Government is preferred. A hybrid work option may be available once the Division Director determines the employee is fully prepared to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities. The initial temporary employment period is anticipated to begin in September 2026 and conclude on June 30, 2026. Please note the employment period could end sooner depending on the funding available and the candidate’s performance.
Minimum Education and Experience Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. Associate’s degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience required; or 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
