Qualifications

Job description

The HR Systems Data Analyst is responsible for the configuration, integration, and maintenance of the firm’s HRIS and the full ecosystem of HR-related systems, including benefits, payroll, talent management, performance, and compensation platforms. This role’s primary focus is designing and maintaining system integrations that keep employee, benefits, and talent data flowing accurately and securely across platforms, while identifying opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency. The position requires advanced technical skills in database design, programming, and system integration, as well as an understanding of HR processes, talent management systems, and benefits administration. The HR Systems Data Analyst will collaborate with HR, Benefits, and Talent Operations teams to develop data-driven, automated solutions that streamline workflows, improve reporting capabilities, and support the strategic goals of the firm’s HR and talent management initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities
Primary
  • Configure and maintain databases related to HR, benefits, and talent management systems. Ensure that data is organized, optimized, and easily accessible for HR and Benefits teams. Perform regular database optimization and maintenance to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
  • Work with HRIS systems, ensuring seamless integration with other platforms such as benefits management, payroll, and employee performance management systems. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in HRIS applications and ensure smooth data flow between systems.
  • Coordinate scheduled feeds and exports to external vendors on a regular basis.
  • Develop and execute advanced queries and reports as requested by the HR and benefits systems to deliver tailored data solutions.
  • Collaborate with HR and Benefits teams to customize systems and automate routine processes related to employee data management, benefits enrollment, compensation and talent development.
  • Develop and implement testing plans to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and the functionality of database-driven applications. Troubleshoot database errors and work to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Work closely with HR, Benefits, and IT teams to understand data needs, gather requirements, and create technical solutions that meet business objectives. Provide technical support and guidance on data management and analysis within HR systems.
  • Maintain clear documentation of database design, system integrations, and custom applications. Assist in training HR staff and end-users on database tools, reports, and processes to ensure effective usage and compliance with internal protocols.
  • ViDesktop Administration & Technical Support:
  • Serve as primary technical administrator for the firm's viDesktop platform, including viRecruit, viLMS, and viEval modules; responsibilities span backend configuration, data integrations, business rules, form design, and system health monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across viDesktop modules and elevate with vendor support as needed. Administer viLMS troubleshoot SCORM-compliant content behavior and related issues.
  • Coordinate system upgrades and patch deployments in partnership with the vendor.
  • Monitor the VI product roadmap; assess the impact of upcoming changes on firm-specific configurations and proactively communicate implications to HR, Talent Operations, and Technology stakeholders.

Minimum Qualification
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working with the HRIS and other HR-related systems, system integration, database programming, and reporting in a law firm or professional services environment. Experience with Oracle and system integration/middleware tools is preferred.
  • Experience with technical administration and backend configuration of talent management platforms (e.g., viDesktop or comparable recruiting, learning management, or performance evaluation systems) is a plus.
Special Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of the HRIS and the broader HR systems ecosystem, including benefits administration, payroll systems, performance management, and talent management tools.
  • Proven experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), programming/scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, or similar), and system integration methods (e.g., APIs, middleware, iPaaS platforms).
  • Working knowledge of talent suite platforms such as viDesktop, Suited, LMS, and performance evaluation modules.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including creating complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Experience with the HRIS (e.g., Oracle, Workday or similar) and the broader HR technology ecosystem, including benefits, payroll, and talent management systems.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills, with demonstrated ability to build automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve workflow efficiency for Oracle or Workday HRIS.
  • Hands-on experience designing and supporting system integrations, APIs, and middleware or iPaaS tools (e.g., Workato, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or similar).
  • Familiarity with HR data and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience writing or supporting Oracle HCM reporting, including BIP (BI Publisher) reports and HCM Data Loader (HDL) processes for data loads and integrations.
  • Proficiency in data management, analysis, and visualization.
  • Familiarity with SCORM-compliant e-learning content standards and LMS administration concepts.

  • Job is performed in a typical office or remote environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.
