Job summary

Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida (SCGC) is seeking an HR support professional to assist in day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, payroll coordination, and recordkeeping.

Position under general supervision; supports a productive, safe, collaborative work environment across our agricultural workforce. Bilingual English/Spanish required and experience in HR support preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of administrative experience.
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish required.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and federal/state labor laws (FLSA, OSHA, EEOC).
  • Experience with HRIS, benefits administration, and payroll coordination is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; able to learn other HR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supports recruitment for open positions by assisting applicants and scheduling interviews.
  • Supports onboarding and safety training for new hires.
  • Serves as a point of contact for policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
  • Maintains timekeeping records for seasonal and hourly labor.
  • Assists with benefits enrollment and insurance claims questions.
  • Maintains personnel files in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with labor laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Tracks certifications, safety training, and licenses.
  • Supports training initiatives and employee development programs.
  • Maintains HRIS data accuracy and generates turnover/ staffing reports.
  • Assists with audit preparation and regulatory reporting.

JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for supporting day-to-day Human Resources (HR) operations. Work involves supporting core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, payroll coordination, and recordkeeping. Ensures compliance with federal and state employment laws while supporting a productive, safe, and collaborative work environment.Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude in the use of initiative.
