Position Overview

Direct the personnel activities during one shift operation of a facility, ensuring compliance with all state, local, and federal requirements while adhering to Simmons policies and procedures.

Essential Position Responsibilities
  • Team Member Support: Assist facility supervisors with problem resolution and team member counseling. Provide general supervision for personnel administration, management training, development benefits, communication, activities, and relations. Communicate effectively at all levels, acting as a liaison between management and production teams. Maintain confidentiality, honesty, and integrity.
  • Human Resources Duties: Process transfers and vacations promptly. Manage disciplinary actions and attendance records, ensuring proper warnings and bonuses. Maintain spreadsheets, analyze data, and interpret policies and laws.
  • Recruiting and Staffing: Oversee new team member orientations, review application accuracy, participate in interviewing and hiring, and maintain staffing records and reports.
  • Team Management: Supervise work activities, collaborate with HR on hiring, administer disciplinary actions, and monitor performance. Promote a positive work environment aligned with Simmons values.
  • Team Participation: Engage in team development, communication, and policy implementation. Attend meetings, foster cohesiveness, and support organizational synergy.
  • Operational Systems: Understand and support Simmons' operating systems, including quality, security, and LEAN principles.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as needed to support business objectives.
Physical Activities

Use computers, verify information visually, communicate with team members, work in various temperatures, and move around the facility.

Requirements
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • Domestic travel, possibly overnight
Experience & Education
  • Minimum: 3 years in Human Resources, supervisory experience preferred
  • Industry: Poultry or food processing experience preferred
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in HR-related field and bilingual in Spanish preferred
