Search Wizards in Traverse City, MI, seeks an HR Specialist II for a 4-month contract to drive local candidate attraction. You will engage communities, build partnerships, and represent the company at events to source entry-level talent.

The role requires strong communication, adaptability, and the ability to work with a primarily remote team. Some weekends and evenings may be required as events are scheduled locally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months–1 year in customer service, recruiting, or community engagement preferred.
• Comfortable engaging with new people in public settings.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible hours with some weekends and evenings.
• Ability to travel locally within 30–45 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with local communities to attract candidates for entry-level warehouse opportunities.
• Build relationships with community partners, housing communities, local organizations, and other talent sources.
• Represent the organization at job fairs, community events, information sessions, and other recruiting events.
• Distribute recruiting materials and conduct grassroots outreach in local communities.
• Deliver presentations and information sessions using provided materials.
• Support internal referral programs and other candidate-attraction initiatives.
• Identify creative ways to reach candidates in communities with limited traditional reach.
• Communicate with recruiting teams and site stakeholders to share local market insights.
• Maintain thorough recruiting activity reports and documentation.
• Adapt schedules and strategies based on community needs and events.
• Travel locally to nearby job fairs and events as needed.
• Work independently onsite while staying connected with the remote recruiting team.

We currently have a very exciting opportunity available with our client for a HR Specialist II in Traverse City, MI . This will be a 4 -month contract role with the possibility to extend.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with local communities to attract candidates for entry-level warehouse opportunities.

• Travel locally to nearby job fairs, events, and recruiting activities as needed.
• Work independently at assigned locations while maintaining regular virtual communication with the broader recruiting team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months–1 year of customer service, recruiting, community engagement, sales, marketing, or related experience preferred.
• Comfortable approaching and engaging with new people in public and community settings.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Highly adaptable and comfortable adjusting to changing schedules and priorities.
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently with limited onsite supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate reports and documentation.
• Comfortable working some weekends and flexible hours, including occasional early mornings or evening events.
• Ability to work both independently onsite and collaboratively with a primarily remote team.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to travel locally within approximately 30–45 minutes of the assigned work location as needed.

Pay Range

• The pay range for this position is up to $23.27 per hour . Compensation will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This rate is subject to change.
