Job summary

Michigan Western Probation and Pretrial Services is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to provide a full range of HR services, including staffing, benefits, performance management and policy development. The role supports both law enforcement and non-law enforcement staff and advises leadership on HR matters.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of specialized HR experience.
• Knowledge of HR policies, employment law trends, and employee relations practices.
• Experience using automated HR systems and MS Office 365.
• Excellent written and oral communication with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer HR policies, procedures, and standards.
• Advise executives and managers on HR issues, performance, and compensation.
• Lead recruitment, staffing, and onboarding activities while ensuring EEOC compliance.
• Administer leave tracking, payroll, benefits, and records management.
• Maintain and improve performance management plans and evaluation tracking.
• Coordinate multiple HR systems and provide user support and troubleshooting.
