The HR Specialist is essential in planning, directing, and coordinating human resource management activities to maximize strategic use of human resources. This role involves a wide range of organization development activities, including employee compensation and recruitment, while ensuring compliance with personnel policies and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Advise managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, and benefit and compensation policies.
  • Evaluate job positions to determine classification, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary.
  • Prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining personnel records and handbooks.
  • Prepare reports such as organization and flow charts, career path reports, and compensation analysis information.

Essential Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and customer service abilities.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of legal policies and procedures related to hiring practices, including equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.
  • Understanding of benefit and pay-scale systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required.
  • 2-4 years of customer service-related experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Experience with ChatGPT or equivalent AI tools.
  • Workforce and SuccessFactors experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in human resources, employee relations, onboarding, and HR administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

The position is on-site in Casa Grande, AZ, with working hours from 8am-5pm PST or 12pm-8:30 PST, Monday through Friday. The role offers a variety of HR experiences, opportunities for professional growth, and exposure to the auto industry, with a clear career path to HR Business Partner.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
