Job description

Miami Family Law Group, PLLC | Coconut Grove, Miami, FL

Full-Time | 100% In-Office | $100,000 Annual Salary + Comprehensive Benefits

Are You an HR Leader Who Knows How to Find Great Talent, Build Strong Teams, and Hold People Accountable?

Are you the type of HR professional who takes ownership, solves problems before they escalat, and knows how to find, hire, and retain exceptional employees?

Do you thrive in a fast‑paced professional environment where recruiting, employee development, accountability, and organizational growth are top priorities?

Can you independently manage the entire recruiting process, identify strong candidates, conduct effective interviews, and help build a team of high‑performing professionals?

If you're an experienced HR & Recruiting Manager who takes initiative, delivers results, and enjoys being directly involved in both hiring and employee management, we want to meet you!

Miami Family Law Group, PLLC is seeking an experienced, highly organized, proactive, and results‑driven HR & Recruiting Manager to lead our recruitment efforts and oversee the firm's day‑to‑day human resources operations.

This is a full‑time, fully in‑office position at our Coconut Grove location, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.

This is a dedicated full‑time role, and outside employment or freelance work is not permitted.

We are not looking for someone who simply manages job postings, delegates recruiting to outside agencies, or handles administrative HR paperwork.

We are looking for a hands‑on leader who personally recruits top talent, builds strong hiring pipelines, takes ownership of employee relations, holds employees accountable to performance expectations, and continuously improves the systems that support our team's success.

The ideal candidate is someone who can balance recruiting multiple positions, supporting existing employees, addressing performance concerns, and implementing HR initiatives without needing constant direction.

What You'll Be Responsible For Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
  • Own the entire recruiting process for attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, intake specialists, sales professionals, finance personnel, and administrative staff.
  • Proactively source qualified candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed, professional networks, referrals, and other recruiting platforms.
  • Create compelling job advertisements that attract experienced, qualified candidates.
  • Conduct resume reviews, phone screenings, initial interviews, and structured candidate assessments.
  • Identify candidates who possess the necessary experience, technical skills, professionalism, and work ethic to succeed in our fast‑paced law firm.
  • Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified candidates for current and anticipated hiring needs.
  • Coordinate second interviews, reference checks, background screenings, offers, and hiring decisions with leadership.
  • Reduce time‑to‑hire without sacrificing candidate quality.
  • Maintain organized recruiting records, communicate promptly with candidates, and ensure no qualified applicant falls through the cracks.
  • Monitor job advertisement performance, recruiting expenses, candidate conversion rates, and hiring outcomes.
  • Develop strategies to improve candidate quality, reduce turnover, and minimize reliance on outside recruiting agencies.
Human Resources & Employee Management
  • Oversee day‑to‑day HR operations, ensuring employees receive the guidance, support, structure, and accountability necessary to succeed.
  • Manage new‑hire onboarding, including orientation, employment documentation, policy acknowledgments, benefits coordination, and training schedules.
  • Develop and oversee structured 30/60/90‑day onboarding and performance evaluation plans for new employees.
  • Partner with department managers to establish clear job expectations, performance goals, and measurable employee KPIs.
  • Coordinate employee performance evaluations, coaching sessions, professional development plans, and performance improvement plans (PIPs).
  • Address employee relations concerns professionally, promptly, and confidentially.
  • Assist leadership with difficult employee conversations, corrective action, disciplinary documentation, and separations.
  • Support employee retention by identifying performance concerns, communication breakdowns, and workplace issues before they escalate.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential employee records.
  • Ensure employee handbooks, policies, procedures, and HR documentation remain current and consistently applied.
  • Coordinate employee benefits, leave administration, payroll‑related HR matters, and vendor relationships with the appropriate internal teams.
  • Stay informed about applicable federal, Florida, and local employment requirements, involving qualified employment counsel when necessary.
  • Foster a professional, productive workplace culture built around accountability, communication, teamwork, and results.
Leadership, Accountability & Operational Improvement
  • Work closely with firm ownership, the Operations Manager, and department leaders to identify staffing needs and improve employee performance.
  • Participate in leadership discussions involving recruitment, staffing, training, employee retention, and organizational development.
  • Develop practical HR procedures that improve consistency, efficiency, communication, and accountability.
  • Monitor employee performance trends and assist managers in addressing concerns before they become larger problems.
  • Create recruiting dashboards and HR reports to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Take ownership of assigned HR projects and follow through until completion.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Be willing to roll up your sleeves and handle the work directly rather than relying on others to execute essential HR functions.
What We're Looking For
  • Our ideal candidate: Has at least 5 years of progressive human resources experience, including substantial responsibility for employee relations, performance management, and recruiting.
  • Has at least 3 years of hands‑on, full‑cycle recruiting experience, preferably within a law firm or other professional services organization.
  • Has a demonstrated history of successfully recruiting and hiring qualified professionals.
  • Understands how to proactively source candidates rather than relying exclusively on applicants responding to job advertisements.
  • Has experience independently managing multiple open positions and meeting hiring deadlines.
  • Is comfortable conducting interviews, evaluating candidate qualifications, and making informed hiring recommendations.
  • Has experience managing onboarding, employee evaluations, performance improvement plans, employee relations, and corrective action processes.
  • Understands the importance of documenting employee concerns and maintaining organized, confidential personnel records.
  • Is familiar with federal and Florida employment practices, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities.
  • Takes initiative, demonstrates sound judgment, and does not need constant direction to accomplish objectives.
  • Is comfortable having difficult conversations while remaining professional, fair, and solutions‑focused.
  • Holds themselves accountable for results and follows through on commitments.
  • Communicates clearly, confidently, and professionally with employees, candidates, and leadership.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, applicant tracking systems, and HR management platforms.
  • Can develop and interpret recruiting and HR performance reports, including hiring timelines, applicant pipelines, employee turnover, and retention trends.
  • Understands how to balance employee support with organizational expectations and accountability.
  • Maintains professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive personnel matters.
  • Thrives in a structured, high‑performance environment where measurable results matter.
  • Is available to work full‑time, in person, at our Coconut Grove office.
How Success Will Be Measured
  • Recruiting Results: Consistently identifying, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates for priority positions.
  • Time‑to‑Hire: Reducing unnecessary hiring delays and maintaining an active pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Quality of Hires: Recruiting employees who demonstrate the experience, performance, professionalism, and accountability expected by the firm.
  • Employee Onboarding: Ensuring new hires complete a structured onboarding process and receive the training and resources necessary to become productive.
  • Employee Retention: Identifying turnover trends, improving employee engagement, and helping the firm retain high‑performing employees.
  • Performance Management: Ensuring performance concerns, evaluations, coaching, and improvement plans are addressed promptly and properly documented.
  • HR Organization & Compliance: Maintaining accurate employee records, consistent procedures, and timely completion of HR responsibilities.
  • Leadership & Follow‑Through: Taking ownership of recruiting and HR initiatives, solving problems proactively, and consistently delivering results.
