Job summary

Asure Software is seeking an HR & Payroll Specialist to support ASO clients with day-to-day HR operations in an on-site role. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in HR administration or a related role.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll platforms.
• Solid understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and payroll principles.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes including background checks and new hire orientation.
• Manage benefits enrollment, updates, and terminations; liaise with vendors.
• Process payroll data, time and attendance, and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
• Maintain HRIS records and support compliance with labor laws; assist with HR reporting and audits.

How you will contribute

The HR & Payroll Specialist supports our ASO client base in ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations. This role will be responsible for handling day-to-day HR administrative tasks including employee onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, and payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR practices, excellent organizational skills, and a high level of confidentiality.

What You’ll Do

Onboarding & Offboarding

• Coordinate all pre-employment activities including background checks, documentation, and new hire orientation.
• Prepare and process new hire paperwork and ensure accurate setup in HR systems.
• Conduct onboarding sessions to familiarize new hires with company policies, benefits, and procedures.
• Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews, termination documentation, and final pay coordination.

Benefits Administration

• Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing guidance and resolving issues.
• Enroll, update, and terminate employees in benefit programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.).
• Liaise with benefit vendors and brokers to ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Assist in annual benefits open enrollment and employee communications.

Payroll Processing

• Collect and process employee time and attendance records for payroll.
• Coordinate with Finance/Payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
• Verify payroll data including bonuses, deductions, and leaves.
• Maintain up-to-date employee records in HRIS and ensure compliance with payroll and tax regulations.

General HR Support

• Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and personnel files.
• Support compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws.
• Assist with HR reporting and audits as required.
• Help coordinate employee engagement and training initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in HR administration or a related role.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll platforms.
• Solid understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and payroll principles.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.

Compensation

The base hourly for this role is $31.25 - $36.00 an hour, based on relevant experience, skills, and industry knowledge. Asure Software offers a variety of employee benefits. Salary information is determined by market location and is provided in accordance with state and local pay-transparency laws.
