Job summary

Penske is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join the Centralized Human Resources team in Reading, PA. You will review unemployment claims, manage background checks and relocation packages, and drive process improvements to support effective onboarding and transitions.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of HR experience, strong communication, and a proactive mindset to deliver excellent service to associates and stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience is required.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across the organization without direct authority.
• Skilled in collecting, compiling, and analyzing data to support decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a customer-focused approach.
• Highly organized with solid documentation practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with enterprise HRIS platforms.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is required; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit timely unemployment claims responses with supporting documentation.
• Manage unemployment claims including appeals, hearing attendance, and fraud concerns with a vendor.
• Review and adjudicate background checks in line with policies and legal requirements.
• Create and initiate relocation packages for new hires and transfers.
• Serve as a communication point for relocating associates throughout relocation.
• Participate in process improvement projects and document processes.
• Collaborate with HR partners and vendors to identify gaps and solutions.
• Handle other projects as assigned.
