Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Human Resources Specialist in Reading, PA, within the Centralized Human Resources team. The role supports background checks, unemployment claims, relocation packages, and various projects to accelerate onboarding and ensure a safe, compliant work environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of HR experience, strong collaboration, data-driven decision making, and excellent communication with associates and partners across HR functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration or related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of HR experience.
• Ability to influence stakeholders with data and clear recommendations.
• Strong data collection, analysis and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-focused approach.
• Organized with solid documentation practices and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Review and decide on background checks in line with policy and law.
• Manage unemployment claims responses, including deadlines and accuracy.
• Create relocation packages for new hires and transfers with internal and vendor coordination.
• Serve as communication point for relocating associates and new hires.
• Participate in process improvement projects and document procedures.
• Collaborate with field and corporate HR, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Handle other projects and tasks as assigned.
