The HR Operations Specialist (Temporary) position supports efficient, accurate, and employee-centered HR services across the employee lifecycle. This position is responsible for HR transactions, employee records, onboarding and offboarding support, HR system administration, compliance activities, payroll and benefits coordination, employee inquiries, reporting, and general HR Operations support. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a commitment to responsive customer service.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
Employee Lifecycle Operations
- Coordinate and process employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, job changes, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves, and separations
- Prepare, review, and maintain required employee documentation and personnel records
- Track assigned activities and follow up with employees, managers, and HR partners to ensure timely completion
- Support onboarding, orientation, and offboarding activities to provide consistent employee experience
HRIS and Data Management
- Maintain employee information in SAP SuccessFactors (MyHR) and other HR systems in accordance with established procedures
- Process assigned HR transactions and workflows accurately and on time
- Perform routine data audits, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrections to maintain data integrity
- Generate and distribute recurring and ad hoc HR reports and metrics as requested
- Assist employees and managers with HR system navigation and self-service transactions
Employee Support and HR Service Delivery
- Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee and manager questions regarding HR policies, programs, processes, and systems
- Research and respond to inquiries in a professional, timely, and customer-focused manner
- Escalate complex, sensitive, or policy-related matters to the appropriate HR team member
- Support HR communications, employee programs, and department activities
Compliance and Recordkeeping
- Maintain personnel files and employment records in accordance with company requirements and applicable recordkeeping standards
- Support employment verification, audit requests, compliance reporting, and document collection activities
- Assist with routine HR compliance processes and ensure required documentation is complete and retained appropriately
- Protect confidential employee and company information at all times
Payroll and Benefits Coordination
- Coordinate employee changes that affect payroll and benefits and communicate updates to the appropriate teams
- Assist with payroll and timekeeping research, reconciliation, and routine employee inquiries
- Support benefits administration activities, including employee communications, documentation, and annual enrollment processes
- Partner with Payroll, Total Rewards, HR Technology, and other HR team members to resolve issues
Operational Support and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain process documentation, checklists, standard operating procedures, and tracking tools
- Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and employee experience of HR processes
- Participate in HR system testing, process improvement initiatives, and special projects as assigned
- Perform other HR-related duties as needed to support the department
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources, HR Operations, payroll, benefits, or related administrative support
- Experience using HRIS and Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and data-entry accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently within established procedures
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or a similar enterprise HRIS platform
- Experience supporting payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, or employee data administration
- Working knowledge of employment practices and HR compliance requirements
- Experience working in a manufacturing or unionized environment
- Intermediate Excel skills, including lookups, filtering, data validation, and pivot tables
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Abiloty to lift 25 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
- The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to navigate manufacturing environment, comfortable around heavy machinery, tools, etc.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, (i.e. safety glasses, bump caps, hearing protection, etc.)
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$34-$45/per hour
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
